Details: Moussa Abu Marzouk, a senior Hamas spokesman, had earlier said the deal would take effect at 10:00 on Thursday, and this was confirmed hours later by a senior Israeli official on condition of anonymity.
But Hanegbi, in his latest statement, says that "the negotiations for the release of our hostages are constantly progressing".
Quote from Hanegbi: "The release will begin according to the original agreement between the parties, and not before Friday".
Background: In an unprecedented vote early Wednesday morning, the Israeli Cabinet approved a deal with Hamas to release about 50 hostages who were kidnapped in the terror attack on 7 October in exchange for a ceasefire.
