216 Russians surrender voluntarily during year, and over 1,000 wait for their turn

Over 210 Russian occupiers surrendered voluntarily to Ukrainian captivity during the year of Khochu Zhyty (I Want to Live) project operation.

Details: Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War noted that this month the state project marks its one-year anniversary.

In total, over 48 million people from the Russian Federation and the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine have visited the project site.

The Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor) blocked 256 domains of the project site.

Over 25,000 requests for surrender were received this year. And 216 people surrendered physically.

At the same time, 21 operations were conducted to bring groups of those (more than two people) who surrendered across the front. There have also been successful cases of Russian Armed Forces soldiers defecting to the side of Ukraine with equipment.

Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War noted that another 1,072 people are waiting. They keep in contact with the project, waiting for their turn to be transferred through the front.

Quote: "For sure, the project does not limit its operation on this. After the successful implementation of the Synytsia (Tit) special operation, the number of requests from the Russians continues to grow. Every day, through all our channels, we receive dozens of applications from active Russian servicemen and others.

We want to emphasise that applying to the I Want to Live project is the only real opportunity for a serviceman of the occupation forces to return home alive.
