Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, has positively described cooperation with Bulgaria.

Source: Budanov said this in an interview with the Bulgarian bTV channel, reports European Pravda

Details: Asked how he evaluated Ukraine's partnership with Bulgaria, Budanov said he rated it "very highly."

"Your country has provided us with a significant amount of weapons, but the main thing is that it is increasing the production of new ammunition," he said.

Budanov added that "the needs are very acute," and therefore "this is very much a matter of survival" for Kyiv.

"Ukraine will always remember and be grateful for the help that Bulgaria and its leadership has provided us with," Budanov concluded.

Earlier, it was reported that at a meeting on Thursday 3 August, the Bulgarian government approved a draft agreement between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Bulgaria and the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine on the free provision of 100 armoured personnel carriers.

This is the first time that the Bulgarian side has supplied armoured vehicles to Kyiv directly, and not through intermediaries, as it did before.

At the end of June, the Bulgarian government approved two decisions to provide Ukraine with a new package of military aid, though its contents have not been announced.
