Ukrainian and Russian forces clashed 35 times over past day – General Staff report

Ukraine’s defence forces clashed with Russian occupation forces more than 35 times over the course of 24 July.

Quote: "Last night the Russian Federation once again deployed Iranian-made Shahed attack drones to target Ukraine. Information about the aftermath of the attack has yet to be confirmed.

Over the course of the past 24 hours, the enemy [forces] carried out one missile strike and 72 airstrikes and deployed multiple-launch rocket systems to conduct more than 50 further attacks on the positions of our forces and civilian settlements. Unfortunately, there are civilian casualties and fatalities, including children; port infrastructure and grain storage facilities in southern Ukraine, as well as residential buildings, were damaged.

There is a high ongoing threat of missile and airstrikes across all of Ukraine.

More than 35 clashes [between Ukrainian and Russian forces] took place over the course of the past day."

Details: The situation remains unchanged on the Volyn and Polissia fronts.

On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, Russian forces conducted airstrikes in the vicinity of Huriv Kozachok and Pishchane (Kharkiv Oblast). They deployed mortars and artillery to fire on more than 30 civilian settlements, including on areas to the northeast of Leonivka (Chernihiv Oblast);Seredyna-Buda, Boiaro-Lezhachi, Bilopillia and the areas to the east of Uhroidy and to the southeast of Popivka (Sumy Oblast); and Strilecha, Ohirtseve, Bochkove, Nesterne and Budarky (Kharkiv Oblast).

On the Kupiansk front, Russian aircraft struck areas near Terny, Vilshana and Kyslivka (Kharkiv Oblast). Krasne Pershe, Kamianka,Fyholivka,  Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kupiansk, Odradne and Kyslivka (Kharkiv Oblast) came under Russian mortar and artillery fire.

On the Lyman front, Russian forces carried out airstrikes in and around Bilohorivka (Luhansk Oblast) and Lyman, Yampil, Siversk, Spirne and Rozdolivka (Donetsk Oblast). They also shelled Bilohorivka and Nevske (Luhansk Oblast) and Torske, Verkhnokamianske, Spirne and Rozdolivka (Donetsk Oblast).

On the Bakhmut front, Ukraine’s defence forces repelled Russian assaults on areas to the northeast of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, to the south of Ivanivske and to the west of Klishchiivka. Russian forces carried out airstrikes near Dyliivka and Predtechyne (Donetsk Oblast). Over 10 settlements, including Klishchiivka, Chasiv Yar, Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Pivnichne and New-York (Donetsk Oblast), came under Russian fire.

On the Avdiivka front, Ukrainian forces repelled Russian air- and artillery-supported assaults in the vicinity of Pervomaiske. Russian forces conducted airstrikes near Novokalynove, Avdiivka and Nevelske and attacked more than 10 civilian settlements, including Avdiivka, Lastochkyne, Vodiane, Pervomaiske and Karlivka (Donetsk Oblast).

On the Marinka front, Ukraine’s defence forces are continuing to repel Russian attempts to advance near Krasnohorivka and Marinka. The Russians bombarded more than 10 civilian settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Pobieda, Heorhiivka and Maksymilianivka (Donetsk Oblast).

On the Shakhtarsk front, Russian forces conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the vicinity of Rivnopil (Donetsk Oblast) and fired on a total of more than 10 settlements, including Paraskoviivka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar and Blahodatne (Donetsk Oblast).

Russian forces on the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson fronts are focusing their efforts on preventing Ukrainian forces from advancing further. They conducted airstrikes in the vicinity of Mala Tokmachka, Lobkove and Orikhiv (Zaporizhzhia Oblast). They also bombarded over 35 civilian settlements, including Novodarivka, Levadne, Stepove, Lobkove and Kamianske (Zaporizhzhia Oblast); and Burhunka, Lvove, Tiahynka, Mykilske, Dniprovske, Stanislav and Kherson (Kherson Oblast).

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s defence forces continued to conduct offensive operations on the Melitopol and Berdiansk fronts, where they are consolidating the positions they had previously captured.

Over the course of the day, Ukrainian aircraft carried out one airstrike on a Russian military command post, eight on areas where Russian military personnel, weapons and equipment were concentrated and six on Russian anti-aircraft missile systems. Ukraine’s defence forces destroyed three Shahed-136 attack drones.

Units from Ukraine’s Rocket Forces and Artillery struck four Russian command posts, three air defence systems, nine field artillery units and four electronic warfare systems.
