Russians abduct 10 residents of Melitopol weekly, change intimidation tactics – Mayor of Melitopol

Russian forces are abducting 10 people weekly in the occupied Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia Oblast; people are now taken away at night to intimidate others.

Details: Fedorov stated that most recently Russians have increased pressure, terror and search for saboteurs in the occupied Melitopol and the surrounding district.

Abduction became commonplace. The mayor claims that in recent weeks Russian invaders have changed their tactics.

Quote: "In recent weeks, we have seen a trend that there is a stable number of people abducted: about 10 people a week are being abducted by the enemy.

The only thing that changed is their tactics: before that they came, quickly took the person away, then made some searches, and left. Now the enemy comes at night, wakes up, for instance, the entire apartment building, so that everyone can see what is happening – this way they intimidate the people. Then they take the person away, leading them out in handcuffs and with a bag on their head, completing the search afterwards. 

Thus [the enemy – ed.] commits terror and increases panic among the civilian population."

Details: Fedorov added that people try to leave the house less, as danger can await in the streets. 

He added that the local residents have no water, no access to medical care without a Russian passport.

The mayor also noted that now it is impossible to drive to the Azov coast, and that the Russian helicopters fly very low over the beaches.

At the same time, in the rear near Melitopol, a bunker was built to make it seem that the Russian-imposed administration cares about the local population.
