Work on specific wording regarding Ukraine in the final document of the North Atlantic Alliance summit has not yet been completed.

As the head of state noted, when Ukraine applied for NATO membership in September 2022, it frankly said that it was already de facto in the alliance, because it ensured the security of Europe.

"Vilnius must confirm all this. We are still working on the wording, that is, on the specific words of such confirmation, but we already understand the fact that Ukraine will be in the Alliance, and we are working to make the algorithm for gaining membership as clear and fast as possible," he added.

As it is known, the North Atlantic Alliance summit will be held in Vilnius on 11 and 12 July.

On Monday, Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, said that after a discussion, NATO member states agreed to cancel the Membership Action Plan for Ukraine's accession to the Alliance.

Earlier, Olha Stefanishyna, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, added that the entire Eastern flank of NATO, as well as a number of Western European countries, are now in favour of inviting Ukraine to join.

She also believes that NATO can invite Ukraine to join even during the war and complete the process when circumstances permit.
