Quote: "Information on a Russian missile that flew over Romanian airspace has not been confirmed," the ministry responded to the media outlet's request.

Details: The Defence Ministry said it would provide updated information later.

Background: Earlier, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, had said that two Russian Kalibr cruise missiles crossed the border of Ukraine with Moldova and flew into Romanian airspace.

The Moldovan Ministry of Defence confirmed the violation of its airspace at 10:18. The missile flew over the village of Moсra (Rîbnița district, Transnistria) and then over Cosăuţi (in Soroca district).

As reported, missile fragments fell on the territory of Moldova for the third time during a missile strike in January.

Moldova wants to criminalise missile attacks on Ukraine during which Russian missiles also cross Moldovan airspace. The mere fact of a missile flying over should be punishable by imprisonment for a term of 3 to 12 years, and if the missile injures or kills a person, the punishment increases to 10 to 20 years.
