Ukraine receives 5,000 generators from partners in December, 8,000 to arrive in early 2023

In December, about 5,000 generators were allocated to Ukraine from state governments and non-governmental organisations to meet humanitarian needs. At the beginning of 2023, an additional 8,000 generators of various capacities are expected.

"The Russians have been defeated on the battlefield, and for that reason, they are fighting against the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine. However, this only consolidates the international community in supporting our people.

The world stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and helps get through the difficult winter of 2022-23. In December, about 5,000 generators were allocated; at the beginning of the year [2023 – ed.], we expect another 8,000 generators of various capacities," Kubrakov said.

According to Kubrakov, generators are distributed according to the requests and needs of the regions to ensure the operation of critical infrastructure facilities, "invincibility centres" [a warm-up point with Internet access and coffee; thousands of such points have been established all over Ukraine-controlled territory recently – ed.], health care and education facilities, etc.

The allocation of electrical equipment took place with the assistance and cooperation of the European Commission, Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC), the minister added.
