Destruction after Russia’s attack causes difficult electricity situation in the west, Odesa and Kyiv oblasts

Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko has said that the situation with electricity is difficult in the west of Ukraine and in Kyiv and Odesa oblasts, in view of the damage caused by the Russian attack on power generation facilities and the power grid on 29 December.

Unfortunately, there is some damage to generation facilities and the power grid. As of 11:00, the situation is difficult in the west of the country and in Odesa and Kyiv oblasts. Therefore there will be emergency power outages."

Details: Power engineers are working to restore the energy supply, Halushchenko added.
