Details: At the same time, Kyiv residents are also hearing explosions; air defences in the city and the oblast have been activated.

Dmytro Lunin said the air defence has been activated in the Myrhorod hromada [an administrative unit designating a town, village or several villages and their adjacent territories] in Poltava Oblast, as well as in Vinnytsia Oblast.

The heads of the oblasts are urging people to stay in shelters.

Vitalii Bunechko, the head of Zhytomyr Oblast, later reported that air defence had been activated in the region and reminded residents not to post photos or videos of air defence or falling debris.

Suspilne is reporting that explosions have rocked Zhytomyr, and the electricity and water supply have been cut off in part of the city.

Dmytro Zhyvytskyi said that a Russian missile has been shot down by the air defence in the Romny district of Sumy Oblast, and that there is a risk of further attacks.

At 16:39, Volodymyr Trush, Head of the Ternopil Oblast Military Administration, reported that air defence had been activated in Ternopil Oblast.

"The situation is extremely dangerous. Stay in shelters! Do not take pictures of anything," Trush urged the residents of Ternopil Oblast.

Air-raid sirens were activated across all of Ukraine two hours ago and are still ongoing.
