Quote from Zelenskyy: "[I] had substantive, more than 1.5 hour-long talks with President Emmanuel Macron. [I] told him about the situation at the front & the course of countering R[ussian] F[ederation] aggression. [We] coordinated further defence support from France. [We] exchanged assessments of the results of the IAEA mission to the ZNPP."

Details: The Ukrainian leader did not disclose other details of the conversation.

Previously:

  • The situation at the occupied ZNNP came into focus in early August when the Russian military began attacking the plant. Russia rejected calls to demilitarise the nuclear plant under the pretext of "protecting it" from provocations, and blamed Ukraine for the shelling.
  • On 1 September, the inspection mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) arrived at the ZNPP.
  • On 5 September, four of the six representatives of the IAEA inspection team completed their work at the ZNPP and left the plant’s premises.
