Russian losses exceed 48,000 soldiers: almost 500 in one day

As of day 190 of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, its total losses have amounted to 48,350 military personnel, 1,997 tanks and 1,115 artillery systems.

Details: Total combat losses of the Russian forces between 24 February and 1 September 2022 are estimated to be [figures in parentheses represent the latest losses - ed.]:

• Approximately 48,350 (+450) military personnel
• 1,997 (+23) tanks
• 4,345 (+33) armoured combat vehicles
• 1,115 (+24) artillery systems
• 287 (+2) multiple-launch rocket systems
• 153 (+1) air defence systems
• 234 (+0) planes
• 205 (+1) helicopters
• 851 (+2) operational-tactical UAVs
• 196 (+0) cruise missiles
• 15 (+0) ships/boats
• 3,239 (+3) vehicles and fuel tankers
• 104 (+1) other vehicles and equipment

The General Staff noted that Russian troops had suffered their heaviest losses on the Donetsk and Kurakhove fronts.
