Explosions rock the city of Vinnytsia and other parts of Ukraine

On the evening of Sunday, 7 August, explosions were heard in the city of Vinnytsia.

Details: Ukrainska Pravda sources report that three explosions were heard in the city of Vinnytsia: the first two preceded the air raid sirens, while the last one was heard after the air raid sirens were sounded.

Suspilne journalists similarly report explosions in Vinnytsia Oblast.

Serhii Morhunov, Mayor of Vinnytsia, has confirmed that "sounds similar to those of explosions were heard" in Vinnytsia Oblast.

"There were no emergencies on the territory of the Vinnytsia city territorial hromada (community)," Morhunov has added. He said that official information about the incident will be available in due course.

Suspilne has also reported that explosions were heard in Kropyvnytskyi.

Meanwhile, Hromadske journalists have reported explosions in the city of Uman, Cherkasy Oblast; the explosions took place before the air raid sirens went off.

Kremenchuk Mayor Vitalii Maletskyi has reported a sound similar to that of an explosion in the city of Kremenchuk.

He said: "There was a sound similar to that of an explosion. There were no emergencies on the territory of Kremenchuk." Maletskyi said that official information about the incident will be available in due course.

Later on, Dmytro Lunin, Head of the Poltava Oblast Military Administration, said that he has no information about rocket or missile strikes on the oblast.

"Sunday evening. No information about [Russian] strikes," Lunin wrote. 

As of 20:08, air raid sirens sounded across the majority of Ukrainian territory.
