Fierce fighting continues on Bakhmut and Avdiivka fronts – General Staff report

Russian occupying forces are continuing their attempts to advance to the administrative border of Donetsk Oblast, with fierce fighting currently underway on the Bakhmut and Avdiivka fronts, in areas in the vicinity of Kodema, Zaitseve, Pisky, Mar’inka and Pervomaiske.

Details: On the Bakhmut front, Russian forces used various types of artillery to fire on areas near Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Soledar, Yakovlivka, Zaitseve, Maiorsk and Kodema. They attempted to advance on Bakhmut, Vesela Dolyna and Zaitseve but were unsuccessful and retreated. They are also attempting to capture the village of Kodema, where fighting is still underway.

On the Avdiivka front, Russian occupying forces fired on areas in the vicinity of Avdiivka, Opytne, Umanske, Pervomaiske, Staromykhailivka and Niu-York using mortars, tank guns and tubed and rocket artillery. They conducted offensive operations in an attempt to improve their tactical positions near Krasnohorivka and Mar’inka, but have once again suffered losses and were forced to retreat.

There were no significant changes on the Volyn, Polissia and Sivershchyna fronts. On the Sivershchyna front, the Russians fired mortars and artillery on areas in and around Hai (Chernihiv Oblast) and Dmytrivka and Kindrativka (Sumy Oblast). 

On the Kharkiv front, Russian forces used tubed and rocket artillery to fire on areas in and around Duvanka, Klynove, Sosnivka, Dementiivka, Ruska Lozova, Ruski ta Cherkaski Tyshky, Velyki Prokhody, Tsyrkuny, Petrivka, Staryi Saltiv, Peremoha, Shestakove, Bairak, Nortsivka and Shevelivka.

On the Sloviansk front, units of Russian troops used tubed artillery and multiple-launch rocket systems to fire on areas near Dolyna, Krasnopillia, Bohorodychne and Virnopillia. Meanwhile, Russian aircraft carried out an airstrike near Virnopillia.

On the Kramatorsk front, the Russians fired on areas in and around Vesele, Berestove, Bohorodychne, Tetianivka, Zakitne, Mala Piskunivka, Hryhorivka, Verkhnokamianske, Spirne and Ivano-Darivka using mortars, tank guns and tubed and rocket artillery. They carried out airstrikes on areas in the vicinity of Spirne and Ivano-Darivka.

On the Novopavlivka front, Russian troops fired on areas near Novomykhailivka, Paraskoviivka, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Velyka Novosilka and Blahodatne.

Russian forces used tank guns and rocket and tubed artillery to fire on Ukrainian positions along the entire line of contact on the Zaporizhzhia front. Units of Russia’s 3rd Army Corps are regrouping on the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia Oblast in order to resume the offensive on the Zaporizhzhia front.

On the Pivdennyi Buh front, Russian forces continued to fire on military and civilian infrastructure in and around the following towns and villages: Oleksandrivka, Liubomyrivka, Novomykolaivka, Lupareve, Chervonyi Yar, Novohryhorivka, Stepove, Pervomaiske, Kyselivka, Partyzanske, Kvitneve, Chervona Dolyna, Kobzartsi, Ternivka, Andriivka, Osokorivka, Olhyne, Ivanivka, Trudoliubivka, Dobrianka, Potomkyne, Kniazivka and Topolyne. Russian aircraft conducted airstrikes on the area near Andriivka and the Plotnytske tract.

Russian ships in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas are continuing to carry out reconnaissance operations and to block civilian shipping. There is an ongoing threat of naval missile strikes on infrastructure targets across the territory of Ukraine.

The General Staff stressed that Russia continues to suffer significant losses in military personnel.
