Ship carrying stolen Ukrainian barley enters Lebanon

The Ambassador of Ukraine informed the President of Lebanon that on 27 July, a Syrian ship loaded with barley, smuggled from the occupied territories of Ukraine, entered the port of Tripoli.

Quote: "The Ambassador drew the President's attention to the fact that on 27 July 2022, a Syrian ship, which was loaded with barley smuggled from the occupied territories in the port of Feodosia, entered the seaport of Tripoli.
It was requested that steps be taken [by the Lebanese authorities] to clarify the circumstances surrounding [the ship’s] presence in Lebanese territorial waters.
"It was also stressed that this fact could harm bilateral relations."
Details: On 28 July, Ihor Ostash, Ambassador of Ukraine to Lebanon, met with Lebanese President Michel Aoun.
The Ambassador discussed the issue of supplying Ukrainian wheat to the Lebanese market with the Lebanese President.
He emphasised that, despite the Russian Federation’s military actions, Ukraine will continue to be a reliable partner and ensure food security.
