Sumy Oblast: farmer killed in Russian shelling

A 71-year-old farmer died on Saturday in the Russian shelling of the village of Ryzhivka in Sumy Oblast.

Quote: "According to the investigation, Russian servicemen deployed means of warfare prohibited by international law and shelled the village of Ryzhivka, in Sumy district, using heavy artillery from the territory of the Russian Federation on 23 July 2022 around 15:00.

As a result of the shelling, a 71-year-old local farmer died in his own yard. A house and two tractors were damaged."

Details: Prosecutor General’s Office noted that the investigation is currently ongoing, and the materials relating to criminal proceedings will be handed over to the Security Service of Ukraine administration in Sumy Oblast in due course.
