Mykhailo Podoliak, adviser to the head of the President’s Office of Ukraine, has suggested that the Russians leave Kherson as their next "goodwill gesture".

"The Antonivka Bridge is a ‘goodwill gesture’ that is relevant right now. A gesture that says: it's time for Russian troops to voluntarily leave Kherson. Otherwise - constant shelling, night terrors, panic attacks and, as a result, ‘HIMARS-enuresis’.

The range of opportunities is narrowing, as is the accuracy of Ukrainian artillery fire."

Background:

o On 30 June, the Russian authorities announced that they had "completed their mission on Zmiinyi (Snake) Island" and withdrawn the garrison located there, supposedly "as a goodwill gesture".

o Before that, Pivden [South] Operational Command announced that the Russian army had hastily evacuated the remnants of its garrison from Zmiinyi Island after the Ukrainian military attacked it.

o On the morning of 19 July, a rocket fell in the area of the Antonivka Bridge in occupied Kherson. Photos and videos of explosions appeared on social media.
