IRYNA BALACHUK – WEDNESDAY, 13 JULY 2022, 16:11

The Russian occupiers have deported 2 million Ukrainians from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine to Russia, among them several hundred children.

Source: Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, in his video address to the participants of the Asian Leadership Conference in Seoul on 13 July

Quote: "Deportation. Just imagine this number – two million people. This is the number of our people deported to Russia. Hundreds of children.

There are no exact numbers at the moment because the occupiers take away the means of communication from the people being deported. They also take away their documents, intimidate them and try to send them to the most remote areas of Russia to make it as hard as possible for them to return home, to return to their motherland."

Details: Zelenskyy added that Russia has created so-called filtration camps and now forces people from the occupied territories to go through these camps.

He claims that "tens of thousands of people remain there, and young women go missing there".

"Sometimes I think it would’ve been easier if I hadn’t survived". Deportation from Mariupol in one detailed story
