24 hours in Sumy Region: Russian shelling kills 2 people and injures 8

Two people were killed and eight others were injured in Sumy Oblast over the past 24 hours.

Details: One person was killed and three civilians were injured in the hromada (Amalgamated Territorial Community - ed.) of Krasnopillia. Russians fired mortars (20 shots) and missile artillery (25 ‘incoming’ projectiles) and self-propelled guns (47 ‘incoming’ projectiles) between 11:00 and 12:00 and then around 12:30. A Russian drone dropped an explosive device at 13:30.

One person was also killed and four injured in the hromada of Velyka Pysarivka. The Russians opened mortar fire (3 ‘incoming’ projectiles) at 15:30 and immediately after that they fired 10 missiles from a helicopter from Russian territory. A civilian residential building and a civilian commercial facility were damaged. The Russians fired 4 more missiles after 20:00.

In the hromada of Bilopillia, Russian forces attempted to fire using a drone at about 10:00, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed it. There was an exchange of fire with the Russians at the border around 18:30. One person was wounded.

14 rounds of mortar fire were reported in the hromada of Khotin around 17:00, and another 3 reported at 17:30. There were no casualties or damage.
