Quote: "Sievierodonetsk is still standing and can still be rapidly liberated.
The city’s defenders are conducting successful operations locally, taking [Russian soldiers - ed.] prisoners, and have everything they need to drive the orcs out of the city."
Details: According to Haidai, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been able to knock Russian troops out of their positions in parts of the city. On 1 June, Ukrainian defenders took 6 Russian soldiers prisoner.
Haidai added that the situation is tense, but controlled.
The Russians are attempting to break through the Ukrainian defence on all fronts. Russian troops are attempting to advance on Lysychansk from Zolote and Toshkivka, and are also advancing from Popasna, Komyshuvakha, and Bilohorivka in order to cut off Ukraine’s access to the main supply route between Lysychansk and Bakhmut.
The assault on Sievierodonetsk remains the Russian troops’ priority.
Meanwhile, 15,000 civilians remain in the Sievierodonetsk hromada [amalgamated territorial community].
Evacuation from Sievierodonetsk is on hold.
Towns and villages across the entire Luhansk Oblast are under constant Russian fire. The city of Lysychansk is still controlled by Ukraine.
According to Haidai, Russian troops are not yet depleted, there are many of them, and they continue to systematically destroy the oblast.
