ROMAN PETRENKO – FRIDAY, 10 JUNE 2022, 08:53

Mykolaiv has been preparing for a possible attack by Russian troops on the city for the third month in a row. However, there are no significant changes on the front line that would indicate that this may happen in the near future.

Source: Oleksandr Sienkevych, the mayor of Mykolaiv, in interview to RBC-Ukraine

Sienkevych: "I don't think anything will change in the near future. The front line has been in place for about a month. It is moving back and forth a bit, but it doesn't change much. They are also digging in near Kherson, they are also waiting for our army to attack…

You know, during the Second World War, a landing could have affected the course of the war in some way. But today a landing would be doomed. In Ukraine in general and in the Mykolaiv region in particular, there are so many armed people – and they are armed not just with Kalashnikov rifles, but with heavier weapons – so such a landing would be like adding sugar syrup to a hive. It would simply be wiped out."

Details: According to the mayor, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are ready to confront a Russian landing from the sky and from the sea.

Sienkevych is confident that a change at the front will happen when long-range weapons arrive from the United States and NATO.
