General Staff: Russian troops establish positions near Tavriiske and prepare to storm Siverskyi Donets

On the 64th day of the full-scale war the Russian army is intensifying its offensive in Ukraine. It is most active on the Slobozhanskyi and Donetsk fronts and has transferred additional forces to Izyum. It is hoping to encircle Ukrainian troops in the east, and is preparing to storm Siverskyi Donetsk.

Details: Russian troops continue to conduct offensive operations in the Eastern Operational Zone in order to establish full control over the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk Regions and maintain a land corridor with temporarily occupied Crimea.
Russia is intensifying its offensive. On almost all fronts, Russian troops are firing intensely. They are most active on the Slobozhanskyi and Donetsk fronts.
No significant changes in the activities of Russian troops observed on the Volyn and Polissia fronts.
Russian troops are attempting to hold back the reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Siverskyi front and to prevent their redeployment to the Eastern Operational Zone.
On the Slobozhanskyi front, Russian troops continue to carry out air strikes on the city of Kharkiv; they are also using artillery to shell the city.
Russian occupation forces’ main efforts are focused on the Izyum front. Russian troops are attempting to advance along the Sulyhivka – Nova Dmytrivka and Andriivka – Velyka Komyshuvakha frontlines.
In order to reinforce troops carrying out the offensive on the city of Izyum, Russia has transferred additional units of airborne troops and 500 units of equipment.
On the Donetsk front, units of Russian troops continue active action along the frontline. Their main efforts are focused on encircling the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On the Lyman front, Russian troops have improved their tactical positions in order to continue their offensive on the town of Lyman. They are preparing to cross the Sieverskyi Donets river.
On the Sievierodonetsk front, Russian troops are advancing on the town of Orikhove.
On the Avdiivka front, Russian troops are firing on Ukrainian troops in order to capture Mariinka and Ocheretyne.
On the Kurakhiv front, Russian troops, with the support of artillery, are conducting an offensive along the Staromayorske - Velyka Novosilka and Liubymivka - Zelene Pole frontlines.
On the Tavriia front, units of Russian troops continue to conduct demonstrative actions and manoeuvres in order to mislead the Ukrainian army and prevent the transfer of Ukrainian troops to other areas.
The Russian occupiers continue to use Melitopol airfield as their base and to operate flights of Su-25 attack aircraft, Ka-52 attack helicopters, and Mi-8 transport and combat helicopters from the base.
On the Pivdennyi Bug front, the efforts of Russian troops are focused on the Kherson-Mykolayiv and Kherson-Kryvyi Rih frontlines.
As a result of their assault operation, Russian troops have established positions near the town of Tavriiske. They are attempting to fire on the positions of Ukrainian troops near the towns of Oleksandrivka and Nova Zoria. Russian troops are increasing the presence of jet and barrel artillery near the towns of Stanislav and Molodetske.
Russian troops have conducted air reconnaissance near Zatoka in order to assess and recalibrate the results of their attacks.
According to the General Staff: "In the last 24 hours [27 April], 8 air targets have been hit by Ukrainian Air Force and Land Forces’ anti-aircraft missile units: 1 plane, 1 cruise missile and 6 operational-tactical UAVs.
The Russian occupiers continue to suffer losses on land. In Donetsk and Luhansk Regions alone, 6 enemy attacks have been repulsed in the past 24 hours; 5 tanks, 1 artillery system, 22 units of armoured equipment, 1 car, and 1 anti-aircraft gun have been destroyed."
