1 person was killed and 2 more wounded in an AN-26 plane crash in Zaporizhzhia Region on 22 April.

According to Zaporizhzia Regional Military Administration: "Details regarding the plane crash. We currently know that 1 person was killed and 2 were wounded. The number of people in the plane’s crew and the reasons for the crash are being confirmed."

Details: Zaporizhzhia Administration added that according to preliminary and unconfirmed information, the plane might have hit an electric pole, which caused its engine to catch on fire.

SES and other relevant services are working at the scene of the incident.

Background: Around 09:00 on 22 April an AN-26 plane crashed near the village of Mykhailivka in Zaporizhzhia District. It was reported that the aircraft was performing a technical flight and was not connected to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Fedir Venislavskyi, a member of the Verkhovna Rada [Ukraine’s Parliament] National Security, Defence and Intelligence Committee, said that "this is another crime of the Russian Federation, which shoots down peaceful civilian planes."
