"EVROPEYSKA PRAVDA" - THURSDAY, 21 APRIL 2022, 13:30
Russia closes the Latvian consulates general in St. Petersburg and Pskov, as well as the consulates general of Estonia and Lithuania in St. Petersburg.
This is stated by the Russian Foreign Ministry, writes "Evropeyska Pravda".
"Heads and other consular officers of these Estonian and Latvian consular missions are declared "persona non grata", and non-consular officers and administrative and technical staff of these institutions are no longer welcome", the statement said.
All the above-mentioned persons must leave the territory of the Russian Federation within the same time limit that was set for Russian consular staff to depart from the respective countries.
The Russian Ministry made this decision in response to the closure of the Russian consulates general in Klaipeda, Liepaja, Daugavpils, Narva and the office of the consular section of the Russian embassy in Tartu, Estonia.
Earlier it was reported that certain Russian diplomats have to leave the Baltic states by 30 April.
We remind you that Belgium, the Netherlands, Ireland and the Czech Republic have announced the expulsion of Russian embassy staff. They made it clear that the Russians had used diplomatic cover for espionage.
