According to Kubrakov: "Today the construction of a temporary crossing near Smolyn has begun.
Two temporary crossings will be constructed on the P-69 highway connecting Kyiv-Vyshhorod-Desna-Chernihiv near the villages of Smolyn and Yakubivka.
We anticipate that the Smolyn crossing will be ready in a couple of days, and the one in Yakubivka – by the end of the week."
Details: Later on, Ukrainian road services are planning to construct a temporary crossing near the village of Kyselivka on the H-27 road connecting Chernihiv-Mena-Sosnytsia-Hremiach.
The Minister of Infrastructure said that 16 bridges and overpasses have been destroyed in the Chernihiv region during the Russian occupation.
Background:
- On 8 April Vladyslav Atroshenko, Mayor of Chernihiv, said that approximately 700 Chernihiv residents had died during the Russian blockade of the city.
- Chernihiv Regional Military Administration warned that Russian troops mined the roads in the Chernihiv region as they were withdrawing.
