According to Denisova: "Yesterday [7 March] a car containing 3 adults and 3 children was blown up by an anti-personnel mine on the Kyiv highway near the village of Kolychivka in the Chernihiv region. All of the adults died at the scene. Children with injuries of varying severity were taken to hospital."

Details: Eyewitnesses reported that the mines on the road were covered with straw and rubbish.

Denisova reiterated that anti-personnel mines placed by Russian troops in the Chernihiv region are prohibited according to the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on their Destruction.

The use of such weapons against civilians is a crime against humanity and a violation of the 1949 Geneva Conventions.

The commissioner called on international partners to stop the terrorist state [Russia] by all possible means, and urged NATO member states to enforce a no-fly zone over Ukraine.
