Russian shelling of Irpin kills 8 civilians

On Sunday, at least 8 people were killed in shootings in Irpin, including a family with two children.

According to Markushyn: "Today we evacuated people via the town of Romanivka by buses, and the Russian forces shot at civilians. One family died, they were hit by a shell, and two little kids and two adults died before my eyes.

In total, at least 8 people –civilians– died today during shootings."

Details: The Mayor reported that part of Irpin was seized by the Russian forces, but another part of the town is still holding out.

"Irpin is fighting, Irpin has not surrendered. Part of Irpin really has been seized by the Russian forces, but part of Irpin is fighting and is not surrendering its positions. This is official information," Markushyn said.

He also reported that at 10:00 on Monday there will be another evacuation of Irpin residents by buses from Romanivka.

Background: On Sunday, Russian troops fired mortars at Irpin residents who were trying to evacuate. Russian fire killed one family.
