Quote: "As of 12 p.m. on 6 March 2022, 38 children have been killed and 71 children injured since the beginning of the Russian invasion in Ukraine. These data are not final, as it is currently impossible to establish the precise number of those killed and wounded in Mariupol, Donetsk Region, and in Irpin, Kyiv Region."

Details: Only a day and a half ago, a one-and-a-half-year-old boy was killed by the Russian shelling of Mariupol.

In the town of Bucha in the Kyiv Region, two seriously injured children died, having been unable to receive medical care.

At the exit from the city of Irpin, Kyiv region, Russian troops opened fire on civilians as the latter were trying to evacuate from the city. At least three people were killed, including two children, and another seriously injured.

A boy born in Kharkiv 40 days ago died of pneumonia, which he contracted during a several-day stay in a bomb shelter.

As a result of the Russian air attack on the town of Bila Tserkva in Kyiv Region, missile strikes damaged 15 private homes where there were elderly people and children. The number of victims is currently unknown.

In Hostomil, Bucha, and Irpin, 70 children are huddling in shelters, some of them wounded. The Russian occupying forces are not allowing doctors or volunteers to access and assist these children.

Denisova added, "The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue to grossly violate the fundamental rights of children - the right to life and health, guaranteed to every child in the world by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. I call on international human rights organisations to take all possible measures to increase their pressure on the Russian Federation to end military aggression against Ukraine."
