“Azov” Battalion reported killing of special forces of Russian GRU

The Azov Battalion [a formerly paramilitary unit now incorporated into the Ukrainian armed force -ed.] reported the destruction of 3 tanks and killing of 64 Russian soldiers in the battles for Mariupol, including soldiers from the Special Forces of the Russian Federation’s Main Directorate (GRU).

Earlier, the Deputy Commander of the Azov Battalion, Svyatoslav Palamar, had explained why Ukrainian defenders refused to leave Mariupol when the situation there became critical, despite the fact that Volodymyr Zelenskyy gave them his permission to do so.
