Kherson region: Russian occupiers kidnap mayor of Beryslav and activist

Russian occupiers kidnapped Oleksandr Shapovalov, mayor of Beryslav, and a local activist. They have been in captivity for three days now.

Quote by Lahuta: "On Sunday, 19 March, around 11 am, Russian fascists kidnapped Oleksandr Shapovalov, mayor of Beryslav, and another local activist. They have been in captivity for three days already. Yesterday Oleksandr Mykolaiovych [Shapovalov] was allowed to call his relatives and calm them down.
Oleksandr Shapovalov has heart trouble – he suffered from a severe case of COVID. Shapovalov`s relatives think of his health."
Details: The exact whereabouts of Oleksandr Shapovalov and other prisoners remain unknown. Lahuta noted that it is probable that they are being kept in Nova Kakhovka.
Regional and central government authorities work to clarify circumstances and do everything they can to bring all prisoners kidnapped by Russians back home.
Background: Russian occupiers are regularly kidnapping Ukrainian mayors, activists, and journalists in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.
