The head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, addressed Poland requesting them to open checkpoints in Varyazh and Nyzhankovychi, which have not been put into operation yet.

Source: Maksym Kozytskyi, in Telegram, following the meeting with Deputy Marshal of Polish Sejm, Małgorzata Gosiewska, and the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Lviv, Eliza Dzwonkiewicz

Verbatim: "Currently checkpoints on the border with Poland are much less congested. However, this may change in the event of the conflict escalation."

"That is why I appealed to the Polish partners on the possibility of opening checkpoints in Varyazh and Nyzhankovychi, which are not operating yet, and arranging social infrastructure near them. "

Details: The partners also discussed the need to improve the railway connection between Ukraine and Poland.

Background: Recently, the flow of people across Ukraine's western border has decreased.

There were practically no lines leaving Ukraine at the checkpoints on the border with neighbouring countries in the morning on March 14. Only at the Shehyn checkpoint have 30 cars been waiting to leave.
