Leshchenko: Matios Trying to Save his Deputy Kulyk from Criminal Prosecution
Chief Military Prosecutor Anatolii Matios is trying to save his Deputy Kostiantyn Kyluk from criminal prosecution, Serhiy Leshchenko commented to Ukrayinska Pravda.
"Matios entrusted Kulyk with the high-profile Kurchenko case to save him from prosecution, although this case is not within the competence of the military prosecutor’s office. Moreover, the latest interviews prove that Matios is trying to discredit NABU," Leshchenko claims.
According to Leshchenko, immediately after Yuriy Lutsenko was appointed Prosecutor General, two high-profile proceedings were transferred to the military prosecutor’s office although it had nothing to do with this office. "These are the cases of Klymenko and Kurchenko. In the Kurchenko case, a notice of suspicion against Katsuba was ready by September last year, and against Boyko – by July last year. An official charge was made against Katsuba, but not against Boyko. Now the prosecutor’s office try to prevent criminal investigation against Boyko," Leshchenko asserts.
In this regard, NABU Chief Artem Sytnyk stated that the suspicion notice against prosecutor Kulyk was produced before the latter was entrusted with investigation of the Kurchenko case.
