Temrezov called Adam "a true patriot of his small homeland, Chechnya and his Motherland", and Ramzan Kadyrov – his "brother and colleague".

It was reported on 24 October that the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, personally presented Kadyrov Jr. with the republic's second most important award, the Duslyk ("Friendship") order.

The ceremony took place after Azat Khamayev, a member of the Tatarstan State Council from the United Russia party, disapproved of the beating of Nikita Zhuravel from Volgograd in the Grozny pre-trial detention centre.

Minnikhanov stated that Khamayev's words do not express the position of the republic's Muslims, and Khamayev ultimately apologised "for his emotional statement."

In early October, Ramzan Kadyrov awarded his son the highest title of the Chechen Republic, Hero of Chechnya.

Background:

  • On 25 September, Kadyrov posted a video of his son Adam beating Nikita Zhuravel, who was arrested for burning the Koran in Volgograd.
  • Contrary to Russian law, Zhuravel's case was transferred to Chechnya for investigation, and Zhuravel himself was moved to the Grozny pre-trial detention centre.
