"[These can be confirmed] only when the person comes back to Ukraine, undergoes a corresponding procedure of confirmation that the person was in a situation of human trafficking. And [then], the person gets a corresponding status.

We understand that many people have not come back yet. They are within the borders of the countries, in which they are located," noted Oksana Zholnovych.

At the same time, Zholnovych said that the European Union puts efforts to prevent human trafficking and protect the rights of Ukrainians.

The Minister of Social Policy also said that in most European countries, during a call to police there is an opportunity to receive help in Ukrainian.

"Almost in every country there is [such an opportunity – ed.]. They have a translator to be able to hear the call of danger when it comes to human trafficking. There are also SMS-notifications from the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories as well – with some precautions regarding human trafficking," added the minister.
