Poroshenko is Guarded by Yanukovych’s Bodyguards

President Poroshenko is guarded by the employees of the Administration of the State Guard of Ukraine [Uk.: Управління державної охорони or UDO], who were also guarding President yanukovych for the certain period of time. This was uncovered by an independent investigation of the journalists from Skhemy [En.: Schemes] TV show.

Having analyzed the archive news footage the journalists figured out that the two guards of those, who are now accompanying Petro Poroshenko, are very much similar to those who were guarding the now runaway President yanukovych. The journalists managed to figure out two of those: Viktor Reznichenko and Vadym Chukovsky. Both of them are mentioned in the documents that were found in Mezhyhirya. Chukovsky is mentioned as the head of the unit.

Head of the UDO Valeriy Heletey stated that: "getting rid of the people who are professionals just because of their previous job experience is craziness." UDO refused to provide information on the guards citing Article 6 of the Law on Protection of Personal Data.

Journalists are writing that currently there is no information on where Chukovsky and Reznichenko have been in February 2014 during the tragic events on Maidan.

Moreover, two different sources confirmed that all the guards were staying with Yanukovych until his last days in Ukraine and that he had taken his head of security Kostyantyn Kobzar to Russia while the rest of the guards were simply told to go where they wanted.

Administration of the President refused to comment, Borys Lozhkin provided an official response, stating that this issue is fully in the competence of the UDO. The Office of the Prosecutor General refused to provide an information on whether the employees of UDO were interrogated in relation to February 2014 killings on Maidan.
