The leaders of two Euro-maidan rallies in Kyiv – at Independence Square and at European Square – declared their unity.

As the opposition leaders and the organizers of the demonstration at Independence Square wrote in their common statement, "Today hundreds of thousands of our compatriots have come to European Square and Independence Square in Kyiv and to thousands of other Euro-maidans in different cities of Ukraine in order to defend the idea of association with the European Union".

"Squares and streets of our cities have become a space for freedom in Ukraine in which everyone can express himself and demonstrate his or her own position regarding the actions of Ukrainian authorities", said the organizers.

The leaders of Euro-maidan say that the goal of European integration has united different people of the country: "without any party affiliation and members of the opposition political parties; with and without party flags; entrepreneurs and students; youth and our respected veterans".

"The idea of European integration has symbolically united two emblematic venues of our capital – Independence Square which is a symbol of Ukraine and European Square which symbolises Europe in Ukraine. This is a symbol of unity for the idea of European integration", the common statement affirms.

"Today one tries to quarrel and divide us again, but there will be no success. We are different, but we are united", the leaders of Euro-maidan maintained.

"We, politicians and civic activists, will jointly coordinate our actions and provide mutual support to each other, we will ensure security of participants of the rallies and daily inform about further steps", they reassured.

The leaders thank to everyone who come and help Ukrainians to defend their rights and ask for assistance with warm cloths and food. They ask to spread news and inform those who do not have access to the Internet or objective information.

The common statement was signed by the leaders of the opposition Arseniy Yatseniuk, Vitaliy Klitschko, Oleh Tiahnybok and the organizers of the rally on Independence Square.
