Source: EU will set aside €100bn for Ukraine in 2028-2034 budget, funding not in doubt

As discussions continue on the European Union's next Multiannual Financial Framework for 2028-2034, the provision for €100 billion in funding for Ukraine during that period has not been called into question.

Details: The plan to set aside €100 billion for Ukraine in the EU budget for 2028-2034 has not been called into question so far.

"The short answer is that this has not been the subject of much discussion, and that is a positive sign," the European Pravda source said.

The diplomat said this suggests member states recognise that Ukraine will require substantial funding in the coming years.

He also said EU member states understand that "there are ongoing challenges concerning funding for Ukraine".

Quote: "In responding to current needs, it is logical to have confidence that the next Multiannual Financial Framework will include substantial, indeed very substantial, funding for Ukraine."

• It was reported earlier that the European Union has earmarked €100 billion for Ukraine aid in its long-term budget for 2028-2034.
