State Statistics Service lowers estimate of Ukraine's economic growth by one and a half times

Ukraine's GDP grew by only 0.4% in the second quarter of this year, one and a half times lower than the previous estimate.

Details: Real GDP grew by 0.3% in Q2 2026 compared with Q1 (seasonally adjusted), and by 0.4% compared with Q2 2025.

Ukraine's nominal GDP stood at UAH 2.3 trillion (US$52.7 billion).

The GDP growth estimate for the second quarter was revised because operational data has been updated, including administrative data from the State Treasury Service (reports on the execution of the state budget and local budgets).

The estimate was also affected by the State Statistics Service's receipt of expanded balance of payments data, new data from the National Bank of Ukraine, and additional data from the statistics services on postal and courier activities and telecommunications.

Background: Earlier, the State Statistics Service estimated Ukraine's real GDP growth in Q2 2026 at 0.6% year on year compared with Q2 2025.
