Ukrainian intelligence agency: Russia does not plan to cease fire, no peace deal expected by end of year

Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) has said that all indications suggest Russia is not ready to cease hostilities on the front and that no peace agreements are expected by the end of this year.

Quote: "In their analysis, Defence Intelligence of Ukraine analysts proceed from the assessment that there are no signs on the battlefield indicating that Russia is ready to cease fire and begin proper negotiations. Their plans are as follows, and this is what they are saying: there will be no agreements or signing of a peace deal by the end of this year."

Details: Skibitskyi noted that Putin is still seeking to achieve the goals he has set himself – primarily concerning Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. The Russian General Staff plans to complete the capture of Donetsk Oblast by the end of this year.

As for the coming winter, Defence Intelligence predicts that Russian forces will continue to strike Ukraine's defence industry, military facilities, energy infrastructure, logistics system, petrol stations and civilian facilities.
