Details: The object, which was travelling towards Cuciurgan-Tiraspol, was detected by the National Army's systems.
The object later disappeared from surveillance systems near the village of Talmaza in the Ștefan Vodă district, where an explosion was heard.
The Defence Ministry said the object was detected at 17:37. The authorities immediately ordered the closure of the airspace in the Centru sector for approximately 15 minutes.
Police said the explosion caused vegetation to catch fire.
The area was cordoned off, while specialised units began extinguishing the fire and investigating the circumstances of the incident.
Explosive ordnance and technical police experts are to examine wreckage found at the scene to establish exactly what type of device it was.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian Telegram channels monitoring aerial weapons over Ukraine claimed that a Russian Banderol missile drone had flown over the territory of the Republic of Moldova, passing approximately 35 km from the Ukrainian border.
Police are urging citizens to stay away from the area and not to touch any components or wreckage found at the scene.
