Details: The mayor of Pristina posted a video showing the Ukrainian flag being removed from the building and said that "the state of Kosovo must be respected".

Quote: "When Kosovo is not respected, the capital, Pristina, always responds in the same way.

Our compassion and solidarity will always be with peoples facing war, violence and persecution. After all, we, more than many others, know what it means to fight for freedom, dignity and the right to exist as a state."

Details: However, he stressed that "no cause and no policy can be based on humiliating the statehood of Kosovo and the sacrifices of its people".

Background:

• On 8 August, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Serbia, where he met with Aleksandar Vučić. During a press conference, Zelenskyy was asked whether Serbian citizens could still "count on Ukraine's firm position regarding its non-recognition of Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence". The Ukrainian president said that Ukraine supports the territorial integrity of its partners and international law. 
  "Our position on what you said about Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence remains unchanged. We have always stressed this, and Ukraine's policy has not changed. Likewise, we are grateful to our partners for respecting Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty, including, of course, Crimea's belonging to Ukraine. Serbia's position is also unchanged, in particular at the UN General Assembly," the president stressed.
• During Zelenskyy's visit, Vučić said he did not believe Serbia would be able to join the EU in the near future.
