An explosion occurred in the city of Sumy in the afternoon of 14 April, reportedly caused by a Russian Shahed drone.

Quote from Kobzar: "Once again, an explosion has occurred in the city of Sumy. Apparently, it was the Shahed that had been flying over the city for about an hour and a half. We are heading there. More information will follow."

Details: Prior to this, the Air Force reported reconnaissance drone activity in the Sumy district of Sumy Oblast and in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Air defence systems were responding to the drones.

Background: On the morning of 13 April, Russian forces launched a missile strike on the centre of Sumy. The State Emergency Service reported that 34 people had been killed, including two children. As of the morning of 14 April, the number of casualties had risen to 119, including 15 children.
