EU ambassador to Ukraine comments on Russian war crime in Sumy

EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarína Mathernová has stated that the Russian strike on the city of Sumy was yet another entry in a long list of war crimes.

Details: Mathernová said that on Sunday morning, Sumy was hit by a "horrific Russian attack".

Background:

• Following a Russian ballistic missile strike on the city of Sumy on Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the international community – particularly the United States and Europe – to respond firmly.
• Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha reported that all data regarding the Russian ballistic missile strike on Sumy had been passed to international partners.
• Artem Kobzar, acting Mayor of Sumy, reported that more than 20 civilians were killed in the Russian missile strike on the centre of Sumy on the morning of 13 April.
