Russia strikes central Sumy, injuring 88 people, including 17 children – video, photo

Russian forces have launched a missile strike on the centre of the city of Sumy, damaging several apartment buildings and a school. Early reports indicate that 88 people were injured.

Details: Artem Kobzar, the acting mayor of Sumy, reported that 28 people had been injured, including 4 children.
The prosecutor's office reported at 16:00 that 65 people had been injured in Sumy, including 14 children.
At 16:45, the Sumy City Council stated on Telegram that "74 people have been injured, including 13 children" based on information from the health department.
The city council website later updated the information and reported that the number of victims had increased to 88, including 17 children.
The investigation revealed that Russia launched a missile attack on a residential area in Sumy on 24 March at around 14:00, following early reports.
Head of Sumy Oblast Military Administration Volodymyr Artiukh reported that emergency services are currently working at the scene to deal with the aftermath of the attack and extinguish fires.
Rescue workers are also checking residential buildings to assist affected residents.
Local journalists note that there was no air-raid warning in place at the time of the strike on Sumy.
The Russian strike shattered windows and damaged roofs and walls in residential buildings and the school.
