Russia loses 1,280 soldiers and four helicopters on 23 March

Russian have lost 1,280 soldiers killed and wounded as well as more than 370 weapons and pieces of military equipment over the past day, including four helicopters and 81 artillery systems.

Details: The total combat losses of the Russian forces between 24 February 2022 and 24 March 2025 are estimated to be as follows [figures in parentheses represent the latest losses – ed.]:
- approximately 904,760 (+1,280) military personnel;
- 10,420 (+8) tanks;
- 21,652 (+16) armoured combat vehicles;
- 25,129 (+81) artillery systems;
- 1,338 (+5) multiple-launch rocket systems;
- 1,117 (+1) air defence systems;
- 370 (+0) fixed-wing aircraft;
- 335 (+4) helicopters;
- 30,641 (+146) tactical and strategic UAVs;
- 3,121 (+0) cruise missiles;
- 28 (+0) ships/boats;
- 1 (+0) submarine;
- 41,726 (+116) vehicles and fuel tankers;
- 3,785 (+1) special vehicles and other equipment.

Background: Earlier, it was reported that in coordination with Defence Intelligence of Ukraine and Rocket Forces and Artillery units, Ukrainian Special Operations Forces had destroyed two Ka-52 helicopters and two Mi-8 helicopters in Russia's Belgorod Oblast.
