EU and Canada's leaders to meet at Paris summit on peace in Ukraine, says Bloomberg

Leaders of European countries and Canada will meet in Paris next week to discuss their position on Ukraine and requirements for the peace process.

Details: Bloomberg revealed that Germany, Italy and Poland will be among the EU countries at the summit. Leaders of the United Kingdom, Canada and other countries outside the EU are also expected to attend.

Background:

• Kyiv's European allies are trying to join the peace process after the United States began negotiations directly with Russia and Ukraine.
• The coalition of the willing, which is preparing the groundwork for securing a future post-war settlement, met in London in early March.
• Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously said that he would be in Paris next week for the meetings.
• In addition, senior military officers from the coalition of the willing met on 20 March at the UK military headquarters on the outskirts of London to discuss plans for an international force to enter Ukraine.
