Russians will face difficulties repairing Crimean Bridge defences due to storm
During a period of stormy weather in the Black Sea and the Kerch Strait, Russia has lost structures that protected the Crimean (Kerch) Bridge from Ukrainian drones, but is working to repair them.

Quote: "They [the Russians – ed.] are trying to use every opportunity to repair these structures. The period of storms is quite long in the Black Sea, the weather can be fairly stormy, and in this sense, it’s making its own adjustments to the Russian occupiers’ plans."
Details: Pletenchuk noted that despite the weather, the Russians are making significant efforts to protect the bridge and repair the fortifications near it. He emphasised that the Russians had fortified the Crimean Bridge with multi-tiered fortifications and air defence systems.
He further stated that the Russians are no longer able to deliver fuel to Crimea via ferries, so they are making extensive use of the so-called Kerch Bridge, where a huge number of petrol tankers have been sighted.
Background:
- In August 2023, it was reported that the Russians had installed barges south of the Crimean Bridge that were supposed to become "barricades" protecting the bridge against Ukrainian naval drones.
- The following year it was reported that the Russians were building a parallel structure near the bridge to serve as a defence.
