The order is funded by Germany. Its value is traditionally not disclosed, indicating that it is a double-digit number in millions of euros.

The ordered ammunition can efficiently attack a variety of aerial targets, including drones. It will be manufactured at Rheinmetall's facility in Unterlüß. Due to increased demand for 35mm ammunition, the production line at this facility was rebuilt at a high cost and in a short period of time in the spring of 2023.

  • In addition, in December, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence signed a contract with Germany’s Rheinmetall for the supply of 155mm artillery propellant charge modules.
  • On 23 December, Germany revised the list of military aid to Ukraine, including Leopard 1 A5 tanks, IRIS-T SLM/SLS anti-aircraft missile systems, and Patriot launchers.
