Ukraine wins first medal in 16 years at Luge World Cup

Ukraine’s luge team has won a bronze medal in the relay event at the World Cup, which is being held in Sigulda, Latvia.

Details: The team (Yulianna Tunytska, Ihor Hoi/Nazarii Kachmar, Andrii Mandzii and Olena Stetskiv/Oleksandra Mokh) finished third behind Germany and Austria, who secured first and second place respectively.

None of the other teams finished the race.

This is Ukraine's ninth Luge World Cup medal, and its first since the 2008/09 season.
