Russia launches over 100 drones on Ukraine overnight

Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 103 UAVs on the night of 4-5 January 2025. Ukrainian air defence units have destroyed 61 of them and a further 42 disappeared from radar.

Details: The Ukrainian military reported that Russian forces had launched the aerial assets from the Russian cities of Bryansk, Millerevo and Oryol.

Ukrainian air defence units shot down the drones in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr and Khmelnytskyi oblasts. No hits were recorded.

Several houses were damaged in Kharkiv Oblast due to the fall of a damaged loitering munition, with civilians reported to have been injured.
